Ikats
The Ikat Plaid Series is a celebration of one of the worlds favourite design types: the ‘check’!
Checks (or plaids!) are typically seen on shirting, bedding, garments or homeware - and in our age of fast fashion, often don’t have a very long life span despite the often painstaking hand work that goes into them.
These hand woven pieces are presented as artworks for the wall, to be cherished and preserved, the way a painting or sculpture would be, and are a celebration of craftmanship, and of weave as an art form.
All the Ikat pieces have been lovingly woven by hand on a large wooden 24 shaft floor loom, here in our studio.
